Neogen at IAFP 2026: Scientific Sessions, Posters and Food Safety Innovation

The IAFP Annual Meeting 2026 is one of the most important global events for food safety professionals, bringing together scientists, regulators, and industry leaders to advance food protection. At IAFP 2026, Neogen is proud to play an active role — presenting new research, leading technical sessions, and engaging with experts across the food safety community.

As the industry continues to navigate evolving challenges in pathogen detection, environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and laboratory efficiency, Neogen remains focused on delivering practical, science-based solutions. The IAFP conference provides a critical platform to share data, explore new approaches, and collaborate on the future of food safety.

Neogen Involvement in Scientific Sessions at IAFP 2026

In addition to poster presentations, Neogen is actively contributing to the IAFP 2026 program through multiple scientific symposia (S) and roundtables (R).

  • S11 – Culture or Molecular? Rethinking When and Why We Confirm Pathogens

    Monday, July 27, 2026 | 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Room 228–230

This IAFP session explores when to use culture-based versus molecular methods for pathogen confirmation — an ongoing discussion in food safety testing. Jesse Miller, Neogen Senior Director of Innovation, contributed to the planning and convening of this session.

  • RT11 – Every Drop Counts: Advancing Safe Water Reuse in Food Processing

    Monday, July 27, 2026 | 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Room 210

This IAFP 2026 session, organized and moderated by Preetha Biswas, Sr. Director of Microbiology of R&D at Neogen, focuses on water reuse strategies in dairy and food processing, addressing sustainability and safety considerations.

  • S30 – A Food Safety Data Standard: Update and Report

    Tuesday, July 28, 2026 | 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. | Room 228–230

This session highlights progress toward standardized food safety data, a growing priority across the IAFP community. Donald Mayer, a Neogen representative, will join the panel discussion.

  • RT27 – We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Culture: A New Gold Standard for Confirmations

    Wednesday, July 29, 2026 | 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. | Great Hall BC

This IAFP roundtable, organized with the help of Erin Crowley, Head of Global Thought Leadership at Neogen, challenges traditional confirmation methods and examines emerging alternatives shaping the future of microbiological testing.

Neogen Poster Presentations at IAFP 2026

Scientific posters are a cornerstone of the IAFP Annual Meeting, offering attendees direct access to the latest research in food microbiology, pathogen detection, microbial spoilage, and validation of new test methods.

At IAFP 2026, Neogen scientists and collaborators from across the globe will present a record number of posters designed to support confidence in food safety testing and decision-making. Highlights include improved sampling and testing strategies for pathogens and spoilage in meat and poultry, dairy, and RTE foods. Rapid solutions for novel foods, including plant-based beverages and fermented foods, and detection of allergens and mycotoxins will also be showcased.
