About the Speakers
Stefan Ballenger – Field Technical Service Representative, Neogen
Stefan is responsible for conducting technical demonstrations, product installations, and training sessions for Neogen's Food Safety platforms. He also provides specialized training for the MDS Salmonella Quantification assay. Stefan provides clear explanations and support throughout the service process, ensuring customer satisfaction by offering ongoing assistance and addressing any concerns. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Texas and has industry experience working in and managing microbiology testing laboratories. Additionally, he has developed and established pharmaceutical manufacturing clean-room environmental monitoring programs and served as a Certified Quality Auditor for ISO 17025 and ISO 17043 accredited laboratories.
Maria Jose Morales-Estupinan – Field Technical Service Representative, Neogen
Maria offers expert advice and support on the usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Neogen Food Safety products. She is deeply committed to protecting public health and preventing foodborne illnesses, recognizing the positive impact her work has on food safety. Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Guayaquil and a master’s degree in chemical sciences from the University of Michigan. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and is certified as an internal auditor in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 17025, as well as in GMPs and HACCPs. She has worked in various industries, leading laboratory teams and validating methods for the analysis of products for both human and animal consumption. She has also provided training on chemical safety and quality systems to diverse clients. Additionally, Maria has conducted research on heavy metals in Azadirachta indica as a bioindicator for monitoring environmental pollution in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
